I want to invest in a healthy Wallaceburg
I would like to DONATE TODAY!
According to the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), 2.5 million Ontarians currently do not have a family physician. This number is expected to reach 4.4 million by 2026—meaning 1 in 4 people in Ontario could soon be without primary care access. In Chatham-Kent alone, a recent review found that 35,000 residents, or 35% of the population, lack access to a family physician.
In Wallaceburg, this shortage is felt deeply. Local physicians report that many residents have ongoing health concerns but no consistent primary care provider to turn to for support. Fewer medical students are choosing family medicine, so we need to recruit physicians not only within Canada but also internationally.
To stand out, our community aims to show gratitude and support through fundraising and other incentives, demonstrating that Wallaceburg is a welcoming, caring place for physicians and their families.
